Skin care routines with The Ordinary for different skin types

The Ordinary has a range of products to choose from that you can include in your routine. However it's important to remember that you do not have to use all the products mentioned below. You can start with just a few products and as your skin gets use to it, you can build on from there. Also, if you are satisfied with the results from the few products you use, you can continue using them as it. Remember skincare is personal and everyone’s needs are different.

If you do plan on using more than one active in the same routine then it is better to use less of each product than you would normally do. This will reduce the chances of it balling up on your skin.

Example of The Ordinary Skincare Routine for Dry Skin

If you have dry skin then you need to opt for products that draw moisture to your skin and help protect your skin’s barrier. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% +B5 is one of our top choices for this and it can be used twice a day. They also have a wide range of oils that will help lock in moisture into the skin, such as Squalane, Marula or Argan oils.

Morning:

· Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (for eye contour pigmentation and puffiness)

Evening:

· Optional: Lactic Acid 5% + HA if your dry skin can tolerate direct acids (on alternate nights replace with Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane if your dry skin can tolerate retinoids)

· Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (for eye contour pigmentation and puffiness)

Example of The Ordinary Skincare Routine for Aging Skin

The Ordinary has a good selection of products for aging skin. Their retinoids are some of their most popular products. So you can start with Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane, Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane and Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion. This will help increase the rate of turnover for younger skin.

100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil is another great product that helps reduce the signs of ageing. It contains linoleic acid, linolenic and pro-vitamin A that helps reduce dehydration, dullness and fine lines.

Weekly:

AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, a weekly 10-minute exfoliation facial will help remove all the dead skin cells. However it should only be used regularly only if you are an experienced user of exfoliation. Use it in the evening after cleansing and follow it up with Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. This should not be used on sensitive skin or compromised skin. If this product it too strong or irritates your skin then opt for something less potent such as Lactic Acid 5% + HA or Mandelic Acid 10% + HA.

Example of The Ordinary Skincare Routine for Combination, Oily and Acne Prone Skin

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is really good for oily and combination skin that is prone to breakouts. It helps regulate sebum and minimize pores. Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and 100% Plant-Derived Squalane offer lightweight hydration.
